Planning, sizing and install tips that use this product:

Choosing outdoor CCTV cable: when to run RG59 siamese for analog/HD-over-coax and Cat6 for IP PoE cameras, plus run limits and weatherproofing.

Cat5e vs Cat6 for CCTV: both run PoE to 100m, but Cat6 gives headroom for multi-gig and cleaner installs. Here is the call.

Extend PoE beyond 100m with midspan extenders, a long-range CCTV-mode switch, or fiber — and know which to pick by distance.

Fiber vs Ethernet for CCTV: use Cat6 under 100m, fiber for campus-scale or EMI-heavy backbones. A media converter bridges the two cheaply.

WiFi needs no cable but shares your wireless network; PoE gets power and data on one Cat6 and never drops off. For most installs, PoE wins on reliability.
